Welcome to our new EYFS Reception Parents 2026

The purpose of this page is to provide you with as much information as possible to help transition your child into Ashbeach Reception class in September.

Accepting your place:

If you have been offered a place at Ashbeach School for September 2026, please email us or telephone to accept your place, along with responding to the email from Cambridgeshire Admissions you received on 26th April 2026.

Induction Evenings for Parents:

All parents are asked to attend the induction evenings, which includes a presentation from the class teacher and support team. This is an essential session, where you will receive your induction pack. You will be able to meet the Early years team, view the classroom and outdoor areas. There will be samples of uniform on display and school dinners to sample. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions about your child joining our school.

Settling in sessions:

We will be holding our stay and play sessions every Wednesday from 2-3pm, after the early years team have met your child in their early years setting. The timings will increase from after May half-term to include a lunch session. From September, the children will attend on a part-time basis to allow them to settle into the school routines and allow positive relationships to be developed between the children and adults.

Lunches:

We encourage all children to take up the offer of a free school meal, which is available to all children in our school in Key stage 1. The children have a good choice of nutritionally balanced meals each day. Please visit this School Meals page for more information, including our current menu.

Uniform:

As the children spend a lot of time outside the children are required to wear dark trainers and warm layers during the cooler months. The children wear grey or black tailored trousers/skirt/dress along with their school polo shirt and cardigan or jumper. For further uniform information, please visit our School Uniform page.
